Aktion Club in Action!

One of the purposes of Aktion club is to do service in the community. On April 12, we did a special work day, serving at Poverella House. We spent the day helping in the warehouse doing jobs like sorting, recycling, bagging food items and cleaning the storage area. Below are several "Aktion photos" of the Aktion Club hard at work at Poverella House.

Spring Fundraiser Concert

On March 17, 2008, about 225 people enjoyed a concert at the North Fresno MB Church called, "The Dancing Violin". Our guest musicians were Canadians Calvin Dyck, violinist, and Betty Suderman, pianist. The music was great, the audience was appreciative, and the concert ended with a delightful rendition of "The Hot Canary." After the concert everyone enjoyed cookies and punch. Calvin and Betty had CD's available for purchase so that we could remember the concert for a long time. Proceeds for this event totaled nearly $5000. We thank God for this great opportunity.

Our Own Olyimpian!

Congratulations to Aaron McLain, a Hampton Way resident. He was one of 5 athletes from Fresno County who was selected to go to the World Winter Special Olympics in Boise, ID in February 2009. He will compete in the cross country skiing event. Aaron was a Gold Medal recipient from the Fresno team when he competed in March of this year in CA. Aaron applied for one of the 9 coveted spots from Northern California. He will be representing Team USA.
